Smithfield YMCA Looking To Certify Lifeguards
Smithfield YMCA is offering a lifeguard certification course in December that will qualify those who complete it for summer employment.

SMITHFIELD, RI — Snow may be on the horizon, but Smithfield is already on the lookout for lifeguards. Those are will be looking for a summer job next year are encouraged to take the Smithfield YMCA Certified Lifeguard Course in December.
Being a certified lifeguard at an area beach could be an ideal job for school break. While taking the course does not guarantee employment, the court is an essential part of qualifying for the positions.
The complete course includes lifeguard certification, pediatric and adult CPR, AED certification and First-Aid certification. The course runs Dec. 23 through Dec. 27. Those signing up are asked to bring a bathing suit, towel, lunch, snack and water bottle. The course costs $300 for members and $350 for non-members.
