Thanksgiving 2020: What's Open, Closed In Rhode Island
Most businesses close their doors for the holiday.
Thursday is Thanksgiving, which will look a lot different in Rhode Island this year. Although a stay-at-home order will not be in place, Gov. Gina Raimondo asked all residents to avoid all travel this year, only celebrating with members of the immediate household.
Here's a list of what's open and closed in Rhode Island this Thanksgiving.
- Retail stores: Open at owner's discretion, most closed
- Liquor stores: Closed
- Grocery stores: most closed, some open
- Convenience stores: Open at owner's discretion
- Restaurants, bars: Open at owner's discretion
- Banks: Closed
- Libraries: Closed
- Stock market: Closed
- Municipal, state, federal offices: Closed
- Mail: Post offices closed
- RIPTA: Sunday/Holiday schedule
- Trash Collection: Most towns with pickup are delayed by one day. Check with your local public works if you're unsure.
