Town of Smithfield Hiring Beach Lifeguards

Applicants must be non-surf certified and have a valid CPR, first aid card, and driver's license.

SMITHFIELD, RI — The Town of Smithfield is currently seeking lifeguards to work at local beaches from June through Labor Day.

Applicants must be non-surf certified and have a valid CPR, first aid card, and driver's license upon being hired. The positions involve a rotating work schedule during beach hours, which are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week, and the hourly rate is $16.

Hired employees will be supervised by the Recreation Manager and Supervisor and be expected to actively monitor, survey, and control activity on town beaches, enforce regulations or policies, and perform first aid and lifesaving activities if necessary.
