Which RI Beaches Are Closed For Saturday?
Sandy Point Beach in Portsmouth and Georgiaville Pond in Smithfield are closed due to high bacteria levels.

SMITHFIELD, RI — Conimicut Point Beach in Warwick is safe for swimming now, but Sandy Point Beach in Portsmouth and Georgiaville Pond in Smithfield will be closed for swimming. Blue-green algae has been spotted in Georgiaville Pond. Sandy Point Beach in Portsmouth is closed due to high bacteria counts, the state said.
Also, the Slack Reservoir (on the Johnston/Greenville line) remains closed due to blue-green algae.
