Wrong-Way Coventry Driver Charged In Head-On Smithfield Crash
Smithfield police said a 22-year-old woman was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in Thursday's crash.
SMITHFIELD, RI — A 22-year-old Coventry woman was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after Smithfield police said she was driving the wrong way on Douglas Pike and caused a head-on collision Thursday night.
Police said Courtney Quattrucci was driving her 2013 Dodge Dart northbound on Douglas Pike on the southbound side of the roadway when she struck another vehicle at the Route 295 overpass at about 11 p.m. Police said she first hit the dividing guardrail, then struck a 2013 Volkswagon Jetta head on.
Police said both drivers were taken to Fatima Hospital for evaluation.

Quattrucci was released on a summons to appear at Kent County District Court to answer the charges on July 14.
