Ana, First Storm Of 2021 Season, Forms In Atlantic Ocean
The storm is moving away from the mainland United States, has already been downgraded to a depression, and will not make landfall.
U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — Tropical Depression Ana is the first storm of the 2021 season to be named. Ana formed northeast of Bermuda and is heading northeast away from the mainland United States. It is not expected to make landfall, according to the National Hurricane Center.
By Sunday afternoon, Ana had weakened to a depression with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph. Forecasters expect Ana to dissipate on Monday.
