Ruby Rutnik Scholarship Fund Now Accepting Applications
Up to $5,000 in scholarship funds are available to help young women from St. John continue their education.

ST. JOHN, USVI - The Ruby Rutnik Scholarship Fund is now accepting applications for the 2021-2022 school year. Applications are due by May 28 and winners will be notified by June 11.
The fund was established in 1997 in honor of Ruby Rutnik, a St. John native who died in a car accident in her senior year at American University. After the accident, Ruby’s family and friends established The Ruby Rutnik Scholarship Fund to honor her memory and to support other young women from St. John.

The scholarship fund distributes up to $5,000 annually with the intent to help young women continue their education. More than $180,000 in scholarship funds have been awarded since 1997. Last year, scholarships were awarded to Ki’Janne´ Alfred, Vela Culbert, and Jada Jarvis.
Applicants must have lived on St. John for at least five years and plan to enroll at an accredited college or university. The scholarships are only available to women.
