U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI) is offering grants to grass-roots organizations throughout the territory.

The grants, called Neighborhood Revitalization & Resilience (NRR) Grants, are intended to support projects that engage residents of under-resourced communities to address specific issues and ongoing challenges.

"Our hope is that this grant program will have a variety of positive outcomes," said CFVI Vice President and Director of Grants and Programs, Anna Wheatley Scarbriel. "First, communities come together to develop grassroots approaches to address pressing needs. As a result, the community members themselves are actively engaged in change efforts because they view themselves as stakeholders with a vested interest. Ultimately, leadership is strengthened and they have pride in their neighborhoods, as well as the motivation and tools to continue their work," she said.
