Local Companies Tied to Limetree Bay Forced To Lay Off Employees
Pinnacle Services LLC laid off 100 employees on Wednesday, all of whom were directly tied to the now-closed refinery.

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — On Monday, Limetree Bay announced that they are closing the refinery indefinitely. On Wednesday, 100 Pinnacle Services LLC employees had been laid off.
Pinnacle Services LLC is contracted by Limetreey Bay and has supplied hundreds of employees to the refinery. As reported by the V.I. Consortium, the company was forced to lay off 100 individuals whose jobs were reliant on the refinery.
It shouldn't come as a surprise. Governor Albert Bryan Jr. acknowledged in his public address on Monday that closing the refinery could lead to the loss of up to to eight hundred jobs. "We realize as an administration that there are several hundred households on St. Croix that will feel the impact of this significant decision," said the Governor during the new conference.

Jobs eliminated by Pinnacle Services include administrative assistants, engineers, consultants, foremen, and laborers. And Pinnacle is not alone. Several companies provided employees to Limetree Bay and shutting down the refinery means most if not all of those positions are redundant.
