Man Dies After Leaping Into Charlotte Amalie Waterfront

On Tuesday, June 8, a man jumped into the Charlotte Amalie waterfront and died.

ST. THOMAS, USVI — On Tuesday, June 8, a man died after jumping into the Charlotte Amalie waterfront.

According to a statement from the Virgin Islands Police Department, the 911 Emergency Call Center received a call from a concerned citizen at approximately 3:51 p.m., reporting that a male had jumped into the Charlotte Amalie waterfront. The male was taken out of the water and transported to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center. Despite efforts to revive the male, he was pronounced dead at around 4:48 p.m.

The male’s identity is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.
