Missing St. Croix Man Found Deceased

The body of 85-year-old Oswald Small was recovered from the water at Carlton Beach on Tuesday, March 25.

ST. CROIX, USVI —On Tuesday evening, May 25, VIPD officers responded to reports of a body in the water at Carlton Beach. The body was later identified by the next of kin as Oswald Small. He was dead when he was removed from the water.

85-year-old Oswald A. Small was reported missing by family members on May 24. Small was observed driving his vehicle on surveillance video that morning around 9:15 a.m. near a residence in Estate Carlton. VIPD officers and members of the community conducted searches for Small with negative results.

The cause of death is unknown at this time, pending an autopsy. The investigation into this incident continues.
