Possible Drowning at Brewers Beach

The Virgin Island Police Department are investigating a possible drowning at Brewer's Beach. The deceased was identified as George A. Lake.

ST. THOMAS, USVI – Police are investigating a possible drowning that occurred Tuesday, May 4, at John Brewers Beach.

The 911 Emergency Call Center received a call at approximately 2pm. Police officers and security personnel from the University of the Virgin Islands who arrived at Brewer's beach found an unresponsive male who was removed from the water. The victim was transported to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The deceased was identified by his next of kin as 87-year-old George A. Lake. The cause of death is unknown at this time, pending an autopsy.
