Rape Reported at Margaritaville Resort, Police Investigating

A sexual assault was reported on Sunday evening at the popular resort.

ST. THOMAS, USVI — Police are investigating a reported rape that occurred on Sunday night at the Margaritaville Vacation Club on St. Thomas. The suspect has not yet been arrested or charged.

The Virgin Islands Police Department said that officers were dispatched to the popular resort on Sunday, June 20 around 11:30 p.m. The female victim was at the resort’s Hilltop Bar where she met the suspect. She did not previously know him. They had alcoholic beverages together. The victim said that as she was heading back to her room, the suspect walked behind her and sexually assaulted her. He then left the area.

According to the VIPD, the suspect was a shirtless Hispanic male, 5 feet 6 inches in height, with his hair in blond braids, with tattoos.
