Schools Plan To Be 100% In-Person for 2021-2022 School Year
Public schools across the territory are planning to return to in-person learning 100% of the time.
U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — Public schools across the territory are planning to return to 100% in-person learning for the 2021-2022 school year.
The announcement came during the Government House weekly press briefing and COVID-19 update.
As part of the push to get students back in classrooms, Governor Albert Bryan Jr.'s administration announced a special lottery incentive. School personnel who are fully vaccinated by August 9 will be eligible to win. Three prizes will be drawn for each school district: $25,000, $10,000 and $5,000.

All students and staff are eligible, including principals, teachers, guidance counselors, cafeteria workers, school monitors and school bus drivers.
Eligible individuals must register with the Department of Health ahead of time so that their student or employment status can be confirmed. The Office of Governor will provide registration details in coming days.
