Shooting Spree Across St. Thomas on Friday, June 18
On June 18th, police responded to three separate shooting incidents across St. Thomas which resulted in three deaths.
ST. THOMAS, USVI — Virgin Islands Police Department responded to three separate incidents on Friday, June 18, all involving gunshot victims.
On June 18, at approximately 2:51 p.m., the VIPD received a report of a shooting incident with a man down in the area of Coki Point. When they arrived at the scene, officers found an adult male with multiple gunshot wounds to the body. He was transported to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center where he is listed in serious condition.
Later that afternoon, at approximately 6:27 p.m., VIPD officers responded to a report of a man down in Estate Fortuna near the food van. Officers found an unresponsive, Black male with a gunshot wound. The male victim identified as Donald George, age 38 of Estate Fortuna, was declared deceased upon arrival by the Emergency Medical Technicians.

Close to midnight on the same day, the 911 Emergency Call Center was contacted by a concerned citizen who reported hearing multiple shots being fired and a male down in Smith Bay. Officers traveled to the scene and found two gunshot victims in the area.
The first male victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds about his body. Emergency Medical Technicians confirmed that he did not have any signs of life. The male was identified by family members as 42-year-old Camille W. King, Jr.

The second male victim also suffered multiple gunshot wounds about his body. He was transported to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center but he died from his injuries a short time later. The identity of this victim is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.
The VIPD held a press conference on Saturday to address the rash of shooting incidents. St. Thomas/St. John District Chief of Police Steven Phillip denounced the violence, saying, “we need to stop the gun violence and get together to move forward together.”
