St. Croix Group Launches Community Survey On Limetree Refinery
Tune in Thursday at 10 a.m as the St. Croix Environmental Association announces a survey to document the impact of Limetree Refinery.

ST. CROIX, USVI — On Thursday morning at 10 a.m., the St. Croix Environmental Association is hosting a new conference to launch a survey to document the environmental and health impacts of Limetree Refinery. The announcement will be broadcast live on the St. Croix Environmental Association’s Facebook page

Professor David Bond, Bennington College.
Frandelle Gerard, Executive Director, CHANT
Sommer Sibilly-Brown, Executive Director, VI Good Foods Coalition
Jennifer Valiulis, Executive Director, St. Croix Environmental Association (SEA)
According to a statement released by the St. Croix Environmental Association, "this survey will gather local insight about the unchecked emissions and petrochemical releases from the Limetree refinery in the past six months. This information will provide a preliminary measure and a map of the impact Limetree is having on the homes, gardens, and health of residents of St. Croix."

The survey was designed and organized by David Bond (Bennington College), CHANT, and the St. Croix Environmental Association (SEA). Local volunteers will also be taking the survey door-to-door and will be outside popular grocery stores in the coming days. All residents of St. Croix are encouraged to complete the survey. It takes about 4 minutes to complete. The deadline for completing the survey is July 9, 2021.
