St. Thomas Man Charged with Burglary and Kidnapping
Simon L. Rawlins, Jr. was arrested after his girlfriend accused him of forcing her into his truck at gunpoint.

ST. THOMAS, USVI — On June 13, 2021, Simon L. Rawlins, Jr., age 33 of Thomasville Apartments, was arrested after he turned himself in to police. Rawlins was subsequently charged with first Degree Burglary, Kidnapping, Simple Assault, Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Ammunition, and Disturbance of the Peace.
On June 12. the Virgin Islands Police Department took a statement from the victim, an adult female, while she was a patient at the Roy L. Schneider Regional Medical Center. The victim stated that Rawlins, who is her boyfriend, found her at a friend’s residence and forced her into his truck at gunpoint. The victim stated that she managed to escape and approached officers to advise them of what happened.
Rawlins was jailed without bail, in accordance with the territory’s domestic violence laws, pending his Advice of Rights hearing.
