V.I. Fire Department: Outdoor Burns Allowed, Permit Required

As drought conditions ease up, the V.I. Fire Department has lifted the ban on outdoor burns.

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — The Virgin Islands Fire Service has lifted the territory-wide ban on outdoor burns.

While burns are now permitted, a valid permit is still required. Applications for burn permits are available at the Arson Prevention and Investigation Unit’s offices.

For more information, residents and businesses should call 340-773-8050 on St. Croix or 340-774-7610 in the St. Thomas-St. John District.
