John A. Richards III is ranked in the top 10 tennis coaches across America. Let's make him #1.

ST. THOMAS, USVI— St. Thomas native John A. Richards III has been voted one of the top 10 tennis coaches in America. Now he’s in the running for the number one spot and we can help get him there.

The Tennis Channel is celebrating the best tennis coaches across the U.S., singling out coaches who have inspired their students and shown a passion for sharing the sport. The top male and female coach will be featured on the Tennis Channel, on Tennis.com, and in Tennis Magazine.

Voting is open to the public and you can vote once a day until May 2. Place your vote here.

John grew up playing tennis in the Virgin Islands, initially under the eye of his father, Al Richards. Al has a long history of playing tennis in the Virgin Islands. He won a Bronze Medal at the Central American and Caribbean Games (CAC) and coached at several universities, including the University of the Virgin Islands.

John is now the President of Central Florida Tennis Management Associates, which he runs with his brother, Albert Richards. John is also Director of Tennis at the Ft. Gatlin Tennis Center, Head Tennis Coach for the Special Olympics Florida, and Tennis Coach at Boone High School.

One of his most notable roles is as a founder and VP of the Posh Rock Tennis Foundation. Posh Rock is a not-for-profit organization focused on providing education and opportunities to the youth of Central Florida through tennis. The programming focuses on physical, education and life skills.
