Virtual Town Hall Held Thursday Night Addressing Limetree Bay

A virtual town hall was planned Thursday night on the latest revolving the ongoing Limetree Refinery incident

ST. CROIX, USVI — The St. Croix Foundation for Community Development hosted a virtual town hall Thursday, May 13, to discuss the health and environmental impacts from Limetree Bay Refinery.

According to their Facebook page, "the Townhall is being convened to provide pertinent information to residents on the recent releases, protocols for air quality monitoring, and reporting."

The organization added, "this convening is intended to empower residents, particularly those most impacted by recent releases, to lead important conversations that impact their neighborhoods, their health, and their economic interests."

Officials from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Centers for Disease Control, Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency and Department of Planning and Natural Resources attended.
