“Walk Me Home” Motorcade On Saturday For Foster Care Awareness

The Department of Human Services will host a "Walk Me Home" motorcade on Saturday, June 19 to raise support for foster families.

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS —The Virgin Islands Department of Human Services (DHS) invites the community to participate in the first ever motorcade to raise awareness and support for Foster Care on Saturday, June 19 at 4 p.m. in both St. Thomas and St. Croix.

By joining the Walk-Me-Home motorcades, participants will be raising awareness and providing support for at-risk children and youth and the Foster Families that support them.

Everyone is asked to show support by wearing and decorating their vehicles in light blue,

Motorcade Routes & Times:
St. Thomas, 4 PM: Start - Emile Griffith Ballpark Parking Lot – End - Tutu Park Mall Parking Lot.
St. Croix, 4 PM: Start - DHS Office of the Commissioner in Golden Rock Parking Lot – End - Buddhoe Park.

Churches, businesses and individuals are urged to sponsor the Walk-Me-Home Motorcade, help fund the Resource Closet and show our kids in protective and Foster Care that the community stands in support of them. Funds raised will go to securing resources that include personal care items, toiletries, school supplies, clothing, car seats, duffel bags, and other essential and critical supplies for at-risk children and youth-in-transition during a difficult time.
