WAPA: Electricity Out For All St. Thomas and St. John Customers
Efforts are underway to rebuild the generation capacity needed to restore electrical service in the St. Thomas - St. John district.

ST. THOMAS, USVI — A major electrical service interruption is affecting all customers in the St. Thomas - St. John district following an apparent electrical fault which tripped Feeder 6A followed by the subsequent loss of generation capacity at the Randolph Harley Power Plant. The outage occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m.
Plant personnel are continuing efforts to rebuild the generation capacity needed to restore electrical service in the St. Thomas - St. John district. Presently one generating unit and Feeders 8A and 9C are on line. A major electrical fault on Feeder 6A, in close proximity to the power plant, tripped the feeder and several generators resulting in the major outage to customers on St. Thomas, St. John, Hassel Island and Water Island. Repairs are also underway to the damaged electrical equipment on Feeder 6A. The outage occurred at 7:22 p.m.
