Helen Ofield is an award-winning writer for film, TV, radio and online and print media, member of the Society of Professional Journalists, and a veteran historic preservationist in New York and California. She is president of the Lemon Grove Historical Society and former 11-year member of the San Diego County Historic Site Board. She spearheaded the saving of Lemon Grove's first church (1897) and its adaptive reuse as the Parsonage Museum of Lemon Grove, and the saving of the H. Lee House (1928) and its adaptive reuse as the city's cultural center. She conceived and directed the award-winning Lemon Grove History Mural and serves on various civic committees and boards.
