A hazardous-materials recycler working in the back of a truck was overcome by chlorine gas Wednesday morning.

Tom Roebuck grew up in Columbus, Ohio, and moved to San Diego after graduating from The Ohio State University. He spent 14 years with Copley News Service as the night wire desk editor, travel editor and features writer.
