• 3 juveniles charged in auto thefts, crashes (nbc12.com) — Colonial Heights police say three juveniles, ages 12 to 17, crashed two stolen cars in the Sherwood Hills area early Thursday, damaging several parked vehicles and a utility pole. All three, from Hopewell, were treated for minor injuries and now face multiple charges, with court proceedings set in Colonial Heights Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. 
• Man hospitalized after being attacked by dogs in Colonial Heights (progress-index.com) — A Colonial Heights man is recovering at VCU Medical Center after being mauled by three pit bulls at a Dupuy Court apartment complex early Saturday morning. Police shot one dog to free the victim, and Animal Control seized the other two. The dogs’ owner, a Petersburg man, was arrested on multiple animal cruelty and abandonment charges while investigators consider additional counts.
• Crime data for Tri-Cities show mixed results from 2024 to 2025 (wric.com) — New FBI crime data show Colonial Heights was the only Tri-Cities locality with an overall increase in major crimes from 2024 to 2025, adding 108 cases. Larceny-thefts rose the most, while homicides and rapes stayed nearly flat and motor vehicle thefts dipped slightly. Petersburg and Hopewell both saw overall crime decreases over the same period.
