1-year-old Found Alone In Street, Babysitter Charged
Prince William County police said the babysitter was watching TV when the toddler wandered off.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A 33-year-old woman was arrested after police said she let a toddler she was babysitting wander alone into a street, Prince William County police said.
Maria Rafaela Cruz-Serrano of 15387 Gunsmith Terrace in Woodbridge is charged with felony child neglect, records show.
A passerby called police on Aug. 9 when that person noticed the 1-year-old playing alone in the street near Rippon Boulevard and Forest Grove Drive.

Police arrived, search the neighborhood and located the suspect.
The suspect was watching TV when the child wandered off, investigators said.

The toddler was unharmed and was put in the custody of a family member.
Cruz-Serrano was held on a $2,000 secured bond. A court date is pending.
