Coronavirus Vaccine Clinic Comes To Boys & Girls Club On Saturday

The health district will host a vaccination clinic using the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at the Boys and Girls Club on Saturday, May 1.

DALE CITY, VA — A coronavirus vaccine clinic will come to the Boys and Girls Club in Dale City on Saturday, May 1. The clinic, operated by the Prince William Health District, will administer the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

The clinic may be able to accept walk-ups on Saturday, but residents are encouraged to register to save their spot. To register for an appointment, residents can visit the Boys and Girls Club at 5070 Dale Boulevard from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday or Thursday.

The Prince William Health District paused their use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in April, after the FDA and CDC expressed concern about rare blood clots. The CDC and FDA recommended that health districts resume their use of the vaccine last week.

"Before signing up for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, patients are made aware of the rare risk of blood clots," the Prince William Health District said in a news release. The health district also noted that they will continue to offer the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines at other clinics around the county.

Those who have not yet received a free coronavirus vaccine can sign up for an appointment online. Anyone without internet access can call the state's hotline at 877-829-4682 to schedule their appointment. Residents can also use the VaccineFinder tool to find an appointment at local pharmacies or healthcare providers.
