Dickey's Barbecue Pit Coming to Dale City
Dickey's Barbecue Pit, a Texas-style restaurant chain, is scheduled to open a location in Dale City.

DALE CITY, VA — Dickey's Barbecue Pit announced a new location in Dale City, in partnership with Mark Klawitter, a former sergeant major in the United States Army. Klawitter will be the owner and operator of the restaurant.
“Dale City is a very diverse community," said Klawitter in a recent press release. "And I look forward to serving my neighbors and giving guests an opportunity to know me and our great barbecue coming soon."
Dickey's Barbecue Pit did not announce an exact location or timeframe for the new restaurant, though it did specify the new location would be a delivery and carry-out unit. The deal between Klawitter and the restaurant chain was finalized this month.

"As a lot of folks are still not comfortable dining around other people, I wanted to give guests the opportunity to enjoy true Texas-style barbecue through the convenience of carryout and delivery,” said Klawitter.
Currently, the state of Virginia does not prohibit in-person dining.

Dickey's offers a franchise discount for members of the military. Because of his military service, Klawitter qualifies for this discount, and cites it as one reason he was attracted to the chain.
Laura Rea Dickey is the CEO of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurant, Inc. "Mark’s previous leadership experience in the military and his passion for serving his community and a team will lend itself well to restaurant ownership," she said in a press release. "We’re honored to have Mark join our close-knit family and look forward to his future success."
The restaurant chain specializes in southern-style cuisine and slow-smoked meats. The nearest Dickey's Barbecue Pit locations are located in Fredericksburg and Fairfax.
