Domestic Shooting In Dale City Leads To Arrest: Police
An 85-year-old man faces charges after he was accused of shooting a man after an argument at his home in Dale City, authorities said.

DALE CITY, VA — An 85-year-old man was arrested after authorities claimed he shot a man after an argument on Thursday night. Donald Lee Dye is charged with one count of malicious wounding and one count of using a firearm in commission of a felony.
The victim, an unnamed 63-year-old man, was flown to a hospital on Wednesday night with a gunshot wound. The victim is expected to survive, police said.
At 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, police officers were called to a domestic incident at a home in the Birchdale neighborhood of Dale City. Before the officers arrived, they were notified that a shooting had occurred inside the home, according to the police report.

When they arrived on the scene, officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The officers provided first aid to the victim until rescue personnel arrived, police said.
During an investigation, officers determined that Dye and the victim were involved in an argument in Dye's home that escalated. Authorities claim that the victim began damaging items in the home. The officers believed that Dye retrieved a gun and fired a single round that struck the victim.

On Thursday, Dye was arrested by the Prince William County Police Department. His court date is currently pending and his bond was listed as "unavailable."
