Gun violence

Gun violence

In recent years gun violence has increased significantly. There are more cases of children and young adults engaging in violence or getting caught in the crossfire than ever before. Debates whether gun laws are strict enough and what else can be done for prevention abound. With more lives being affected on a regular basis, concerns arise regarding safety as the number of guns being used is increasing rapidly.

It is tragic that almost every week we hear about some sort of gun violence affecting people either in our own hometown or in another part of the country. People get angry over little things or something that one should be able to laugh about. Sometimes there are situations in which someone is threatened but things escalate too far quickly.

Years ago gun violence had its issues but nothing compared to or as frequent as what is going on in today's world. Nowadays there are events that seem shocking, sad and pointless. Gun violence has grown into a crisis. Some people feel we should ban guns altogether, while others feel this would be impossible. Getting rid of guns may help remedy the issue but it may not be enough to make the problem go away. There are certain parts of the world that have already banned guns and similar weapons. The problem we have is that people can still smuggle them in. Eliminating guns from the equation is a partial solution. You have people who are not willing to talk about their problems and they jump to conclusions way too soon.

It would be a perfect world if we could settle our problems without getting angry instead of turning to the use of guns. In the meantime people continue to hope for a better future with fewer guns in it.
