As Women’s History Month is being observed in March, I want to take advantage of this month and want to talk about myself being a part of a proud Muslim family. The world is talking about the rights of women right now, but Islam is the religion which gave all those rights to girls years ago. Daughters are without doubt counted as great blessings from the Almighty God. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) promised that a father who takes the responsibility of raising daughters will get a place in paradise. The Prophet Muhammad respected his daughter to the extent that he would stand up for her when he would see her approaching. This is an indicator of the esteemed position of daughters in Islam and how they are honored. Islam grant girls their rights. As a Muslim girl, I have the right to get an education, the right to work, right to marry of my choice, right to have share of my father’s property, right to be happy, right to speak and express my views and ideas, and right to be a person. I’m a living proof of a proud daughter with all rights that Islam gives me, and my family is making sure I know my rights and duties.
So, Islam gives huge importance to women especially daughters. May God protect all daughters, sisters and bless them with all the happiness of the world.
