Lottery Winner Nets $100K In Dale City

Kimberly Wright didn't immediately check the worth of a Virginia Lottery scratch-off ticket she recently received as a birthday present.

DALE CITY, VA—For whatever reason, Kimberly Wright of Dale City didn't immediately check the worth of a Virginia Lottery scratch-off ticket she recently received as a birthday present. She stashed it away, where it pretty much remained out of sight and out of mind.

But when she finally got around to scratching it, she found that it was worth a cool $100,000. Wright told Lottery officials she had no immediate plans for the winnings. The ticket was bought in a 7-Eleven at 14410 Minniville Road in Dale City.

It was the third of four top prizes in the game, Super Crossword. The odds of winning are 1 in 1,040,400.
