Police: Assault Suspect Choked Woman in Her Bed
Woodbridge man is at large after Sunday incident, say Prince William County police.

A Woodbridge man who broke into a woman’s bedroom early Sunday and tried to strangle her is at large, according to the Prince William County police.
The 32-year-old woman, also from Woodbridge, sustained minor injuries, the police said.

Clayton Mack Holly, 42, of the 14100 block of Madrigal Drive, has been charged with strangulation, grand larceny and preventing the summoning of law enforcement, a police report stated. He’s described as a black male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, and weighing 185 pounds with a medium build, dark complexion, short black hair, brown eyes, a goatee and a tattoo on his chest.
At 3:42 a.m. Sunday, police officers responded to a call about an assault at a residence in the 3300 block of Esquarre Court in Woodbridge, the police report said. The victim told police that she was asleep in her bedroom when she awoke to Holly choking her. He’s an acquaintance of the victim, police said.

The victim was able to activate her home alarm, which caused Holly to leave the residence temporarily. But he returned a short time later and began choking her again, the police said.
Holly then allegedly took the victim’s cell phone and fled the residence before police arrived in the area.
