Police Close Case of 'Suspicious Person' at Day Care
Individual in April incident has been identified, say Prince William County police.

The Prince William County police have closed the case of a “suspicious person” who stopped by a Dale City day care center in April, saying that the case is unfounded.
In April, the police department released photos of the young man and a Crime Solvers bulletin asking for the public’s help in identifying him. But in a post Thursday on the department’s Facebook page, the police said the individual had been identified, and thanked the public for its assistance.
The police did not release the individual’s name. The incident involving him occurred on April 3, when staff members at the Small World Day Care at 4361 Dale Blvd. called the police. As parents and guardians arrived to pick up their children at the end of the day, they said the young man had attempted to pick up a child.

The staff determined the individual was not on an approved pick-up list, and he was turned away without incident. He was last seen driving out of the day care center’s parking lot in a Mini Cooper.
Right after the incident, the police contacted the child’s guardians, who said they did not know the individual. But police detectives on the case said the incident was isolated and could have been a misunderstanding,
