• Spanberger appoints Del. Candi King secretary of the commonwealth (insidenova.com) — A Dumfries resident, Del. Candi Mundon King, has been tapped by Gov.-elect Abigail Spanberger to serve as Virginia’s next secretary of the commonwealth, bringing Dumfries representation into a key statewide office. King, a Democrat representing parts of Prince William and Stafford, is known for work on teacher pay, renter protections, maternal health, and sickle cell advocacy, and will soon vacate her House seat.
