“Real Men Wear Pink of Fauquier County did an amazing job of fundraising and raising awareness to fight breast cancer under the challenging circumstances of the pandemic,” says David Strole, II, American Cancer Society community development manager. “COVID-19 has put the American Cancer Society’s mission at risk for the first time in our history. The Society is facing a $200 million shortfall which has reduced our ability to fund cancer research by 50% this year if the current trend continues. Every dollar raised by our Real Men Wear Pink of Fauquier County is more important than ever to help find new cures and save more lives from breast cancer. The American Cancer Society is the largest non-profit funder of cancer research outside the federal government. Therefore, we have extended fundraising for Real Men Wear Pink through December 31. Thank you to the Real Men Wear Pink gentlemen of Fauquier County.”
