The Manassas forecast calls for rain and then the heavy winter coats.

After a pretty mild November, it might be time to break out some heavier coats on Sunday. Weather forecasters say that changes are afoot for the weekend in Northern Virginia.
You’ll likely need an umbrella for the Thursday morning commute. And for the weekend? The Capital Weather Gang forecasts temperature highs in the mid 40s on Sunday.

Here’s the breakdown from the National Weather Service:
- Thursday: Showers before 1 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. High near 67. Southeast wind 8 to 14 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 43. Northwest wind 7 to 10 mph.
- Friday: Sunny, with a high near 54. Northwest wind 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
- Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34. North wind 6 to 9 mph.
- Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 52.
- Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33.
- Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 44.
- Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 28.
