The Dale City man also used E-Bay to ship items at Prince Williamn County's expense, say police.

MANASSAS, VA — A civilian worker with the Prince William County fire department is being accused of using E-Bay to sell $20,000 worth of county equipment and pocketing the proceeds. The Prince William police on Wednesday arrested Charles Bryan Marcus, 69, on two counts of felony embezzlement, according to a police report.

Marcus, of the 13000 block of Kurtz Road in Dale City, was released on a $50,000 bond, and his next court date is pending.

Police detectives began an investigation in January after the fire department found the equipment was missing. They determined that Marcus, who worked at the department's logistics office in Manassas, had sold the gear through his personal E-Bay account between October and January.
