Family's Christmas Display Features New Decorations For 2019

GAINESVILLE, VA — The Andruzzi family's Christmas light and decorations display at their home in Gainesville is one of the most elaborate in Northern Virginia, with new lights and decorations added each holiday season. Families often drive by or stop to walk through lighted arches. Every December, neighbors look forward to the Christmas lights and decorations.

The family enjoys creating handmade plywood cutouts. For 2019, new additions included a handmade Whoville house, a joy sign and more lights, the Andruzzis told Patch in an email. Children enjoy getting their pictures taken at the handmade Santa and elf face cutout. Neighbors and people driving in the Gainesville area are invited to visit the house and walk through the family's lighted arches and enjoy the music with a dancing Santa.

The Andruzzis, who moved into the house eight years ago, enjoy meeting and talking with visitors who come to take in the lights and often greet them with a basket of candy canes. Music is normally played from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. nightly.
