Fauquier Schools To Close Monday For Coronavirus Prep, Cleaning
Fauquier County will be closing its schools Monday to give teachers a day to prepare for a potential extended school shutdown.
FAUQUIER COUNTY, VA — Fauquier County Public School will be closing schools Monday to give teachers a day to prepare for a potential extended school shutdown in response to the new coronavirus, or COVID-19, and provide custodians with time to give school buildings a deep clean, the school system said Friday. Administrative offices will remain open on Monday.
The county school system also is preparing resource learning packets for students that will start arriving at students' homes on Friday. The packets contain a wide range of easy-to-use resources that can be used if Fauquier County schools are closed for an extended period of time, the school system said.
The school system also has suspended all community use of school facilities in the county until further notice. School-related use of county school facilities, however, will be allowed to continue.
