Free COVID Testing To End In Prince William County

The Prince William Health District announced that their last free COVID testing event would be on Friday at the Splashdown Waterpark.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — The Prince William Health District will hold their final free COVID testing event on Friday, May 28. The event will begin at 2 p.m. at the Splashdown Water Park in Manassas.

The health district said that testing has decreased as vaccinations have increased. "There has been a significant decline in residents getting tested," the health district said. "However, the PWHD strongly encourages COVID-19 testing."

Though the health district has no plans to host future free testing events, tests will still be available at other providers.

The Virginia Department of Health will still operate free testing events, though they are primarily intended to benefit people who are uninsured, underinsured, or receiving Medicare. COVID tests are also available at other healthcare providers and pharmacies.

George Mason University's Mason And Partners (MAP) clinic will also regularly host testing events for uninsured and underinsured people, the health district said. Their events will continue from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 99 Tremont St in Manassas Park.
