Home Burglar Caught In The Act Via Camera In Manassas: Police

A woman was arrested after being caught burglarizing a home via its security camera in Manassas, according to Prince William County Police.

MANASSAS, VA—A woman was arrested Monday afternoon, April 22, after being caught burglarizing a home via its security camera in the 8300 block of Leland Road, according to Prince William County Police. Shanice Shantel Yates, 26, of the 7500 block of Tralee Woods Court in Springfield, was charged with burglary, possession of burglarious tools and destruction of property.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m., police responded to the scene for a reported burglary in progress. The homeowner said he saw an unknown person in his home from his security camera. Officers found the rear door damaged, entered the home and found Yates. Jewelry was found near her, and a jewelry box appeared to have rummaged through, after which she was arrested and taken to jail.
