Lula Mae Payne, 71

Lula Mae Payne, age 71 of Manassas, VA died on Friday, October 31, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, VA.

Lula loved to cook and was a cook for Prince William County Public Schools for 23 years before retiring.

She was preceded in death by her parents Fannie Hicks and Ernest Andy McDavid, her later husband Elmer Thomas Payne and her siblings Buck, Sonny, Howard, Cora, Ester and Brenda.

She is survived by her children Kathy Moore (Loren) of Manassas, Elmer Payne, JR (Randi) of Manassas, Danny Payne (Phyllis) of Manassas, James Payne of Warrenton and Kenny Payne (Francie) of Manassas, VA. Sister of Agnes, Frances, Lee, Barbara, Betty, Kay, Bonnie, Beverly, Linda, Robert and Butch. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and her companion George Schlegel.

The family will receive friends at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 6-8 PM where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
