Man Reportedly Attempting to Break into Residence Spits in Officer's Face
A Manassas man reportedly seen breaking into a residence was charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer Monday.

An 18-year-old Manassas man attempting to break into a home reportedly spat in a police officer’s face during an incident Monday night.
Officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct at the 10200 block of Winchester Ct. in Manassas around 10:34 p.m. Monday evening. The caller told police a known acquaintance was breaking windows in an attempt to get inside the home.
Officers later arrived at the residence and made contact with the accused, who was actively breaking windows when officers approached him. The accused was detained without further incident after reportedly charging at the officers. While in custody, the accused reportedly spat in the face of one of the arresting officers. No injuries were reported, according to the Prince William County Police Department.

Tyrek Vining, 18, of Manassas, was arrested and charged with assault & battery on an LEO, resisting arrest, throwing projectiles into an occupied dwelling and intoxication in public. His court date is scheduled for Nov. 5, 2014.
