Manassas 2019 Holiday Events: Tree Lighting, Christmas Parade

Kick off the 2019 holiday season with the annual Santa Lights Manassas, planned Dec. 6.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Kick off the 2019 holiday season at Santa Lights Manassas, planned at 5:15 p.m. Dec. 6. The event takes place in Historic Downtown Manassas and precedes the city's annual Christmas Parade.

In addition to the ceremonial tree lighting, Santa Lights features holiday musical performances and a visit from Santa himself when he arrives by train just after 6 p.m. After Santa lights the tree, he will greet the children and listens to their holiday wish lists.

Families can also visit the Manassas Museum and store and enjoy free wagon rides. The Harris Pavilion Ice Rink will be open for business as well as shops and restaurants downtown.

On Saturday, head back downtown for the Christmas Parade, kicking off at 10 a.m. A fixture in the Manassas community, the Christmas Parade has become one of the largest holiday parades in Northern Virginia with more than 100 marching bands, floats, high-flying balloons and more.
