Manassas Eatery Donating All Sales For A Day To Charity

MANASSAS, VA — The Manassas area Jersey Mike's Subs stores are among 4 northern Virginia locations donating 100 percent of sales to the Powerful Beyond Measure, a charity based in Washington, D.C.

Powerful Beyond Measure is a charity that focuses on youth and community development, according to their website. Their development is "focusing on creative, academic, professional, civic, social and personal growth by strategically integrating the arts, entertainment, sports and media industries into programming," the website says.

The effort is part of the sandwich franchise chain's Month of Giving, which has raised $32 million for local charities since 2011. Jersey Mike's hopes to shatter its own record and raise more than $8 million this year, it said in a news release.

Jersey Mike's has been taking donations all month for selected charities. "All sales from all locations" will be donated on Wednesday, the company said. Owners will even donate their money to the cause so that every dollar that flows in on Wednesday will go to charity.
Restaurant owners pick the charities and identify organizations "that support local neighborhoods and build a stronger community," the company said.
