Manassas Insurance Agent Charged With Stalking Customer: Police

A man who worked as a car insurance agent was arrested after he was accused of stalking and harassing one of his customers, police said.

MANASSAS, VA — A car insurance agent from Manassas was arrested after authorities claimed he harassed and stalked one of his customers, according to the Prince William County Police Department. The insurance agent, Eduardo Escobar Castedo, was arrested on Saturday, May 29 after police said an investigation revealed two weeks of stalking.

At 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, the 23-year-old victim called police to report that she was being harassed and stalked. The victim told authorities that the harassment began on May 10, when her insurance agent attempted to use his position to initiate a romantic relationship.

However, the accused did not take no for an answer, according to a report from the Prince William County Police Department. After the victim declined the proposition, Castedo continued to harass her, police claimed.

The victim said that Castedo continued to contact her, sent her inappropriate photos, and left items for her on her vehicle.

After an investigation, authorities located Castedo and arrested him.

He is charged with stalking and obscene language by electronic means. He is currently being held without bond. His court date is scheduled for July 7, 2021.
