Manassas Pre-Opening Inspections: BBQ Chicken, Asian Cafe

MANASSAS, VA ? The Prince William Health District conducted pre-opening inspections at several facilities around Manassas during recent restaurant visits. The most recently published inspections occurred between July 13 and July 19.

Most COVID-19 restrictions have relaxed around the state, and health inspectors are returning to conduct many restaurant and other health inspections in person. However, some visits, such as those for training purposes, can be conducted virtually.

Violations typically focus on factors that can contribute to food contamination. The local health department can also perform a re-inspection to ensure that possible violations have been corrected.

For every observed violation, the inspector provides a specific corrective action that can be completed to rectify the violation. Sometimes these are simple, and violations can be corrected during the course of the inspection. Other violations are addressed later, and an inspector may conduct a follow-up inspection to ensure compliance.

Here are the most recent pre-opening inspections from the Manassas area, according to the Prince William Health District.

  • Approved for permit.
  • Total corrective actions: 4
    • Replace the missing filter in the hood system.
    • Discontinue using the "Y" adapter at the mop sink or provide a double check valve in between the "Y" adapter and any hose attached.
    • Replace the broken lid on the recycle dumpster.
    • Ensure that the grease bin is positioned on the concrete pad provided, not in the surrounding grassy area.

    • Provide at least 100 degrees Fahrenheit hot water at the front handwashing sink.
    • Relocate the outdoor grease container from the grass/dirt area to an approved surface. An outdoor storage surface for grease (used oil) shall be constructed of nonabsorbent material such as concrete or asphalt and shall be smooth, durable, and sloped to drain.
