Open Appointments Available At Manassas Vaccine Clinic

MANASSAS, VA — Open appoints will be offered at the Manassas Mall coronavirus vaccine clinic on Wednesday, April 14. The clinic will provide the Moderna vaccine to residents without a previous appointment from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Manassas Mall clinic is located at 8300 Sudley Road in Manassas. The clinic is operated by the Prince William Health District. There are a limited number of appointments available, the health district said.

To find the clinic, residents should enter the mall between the Uptown Alley entertainment center and Macy's. The entrance is near the intersection of Sudley Road and Rixlew Lane.

Once inside, those interested in an appointment should turn right. The clinic is at the first door on the left.

Wednesday's open appointments come one day after health districts across Virginia paused administering the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Dr. Danny Avula, the vaccine coordinator for the Virginia Department of Health, said the pause allows for an investigation into rare blood clots that are potentially caused by the J&J vaccine.

"This pause is reassuring in that it demonstrates the systems that are in place to monitor vaccine safety are working," Dr. Avula said in a news release on Tuesday. "We look forward to a thorough review by federal health officials."

The Prince William Health District is still in Phase 1c of the state's vaccine rollout plan. A full list of people eligible in Phase 1c is available online.

To register for the vaccine, residents should sign up for the state's preregistration list. Anyone can preregister for the vaccine, regardless of their current eligibility. The Prince William Health District pulls from the state's list to schedule vaccine appointments. People without internet access can call the state's vaccine hotline at 877-829-4682 to preregister.

Registration is not required for the open appointments on Wednesday at the Manassas Mall clinic.
