Police: Manassas Suspect Raped, Messaged 12-year-old Girl

A Manassas man was arrested Monday and charged in connection with the rape of a 12-year-old girl, Prince William Police reports show 

Carlos Daniel Cortez, 30, of Meadow Court in Manassas is charged with two counts of rape and one count of using a communications device to facilitate certain offenses involving children.  

An investigation by the county's special victim's unit revealed the young girl was raped twice in November by the suspect, someone she knew, at a home on Meadow Court, according to police. 

Cortez remains in custody without bond. A court date hasn't yet been determined.
